My Hair Weekend – Part 1 – Henna Treatment

Standard

It’s been a while since I spent my weekend doing my hair. With the New York subways shut down as Hurricane Irene draws near, we won’t be venturing out this weekend. This will give me a chance to catch up on my blog and watch You Tube videos 🙂 It also means I can finally Henna my hair!!!

I try to apply a Henna treatment every 3 months. It is a long process and I have to be in the mood to do it. The last time I did a treatment was in May so it is definitely time. Those gray hairs are starting to resurface 🙂

After reading the description of the products they were giving away and seeing the ingredient list, I figured I’d try my luck and submit my name.  I must have entered about 4 different contests with the hopes that I would be selected.

FRIZZ-FIGHTING TIPS OF THE DAY:

Standard

Avoid Terrycloth; Use Microfiber Instead

Always avoid wringing or rubbing hair with a towel, as this creates friction, breakage and split ends. Gently scrunch out most of the water with your fingers while you’re still in the shower. Rubbing hair with a towel will only break up the curls you just shaped. They key is to flip your head over and scrunch up. Microfiber is a super-absorbant fabric that reduces frizz and speeds up drying time. Microfiber does not disturb the cuticle; instead it smooths it down, reducing frizz.
