Straight Natural Hair

Standard

Out of curiosity I decided to get my hair blown out and flat ironed.
I figured after a year of being natural, it was time to see the progress.

Back in December I visited a new salon that I heard about from a fellow natural who also went for the same service. I absolutely loved her results and was ready to make my appointment.

I went to We Love Hair located in Harlem, NY for the full treatment. It’s a beautiful salon and very reasonably priced. I had my hair washed, conditioned, steamed, blow dryed, trimmed, flat ironed and styled for $80.00!!! As most of you know from my Miss Jessie’s experience, this was a welcomed change.

I was a bit nervous about all the heat my hair was about to endure with the blow drying and flat ironing but after seeing the end results, I was very pleased with the results. My hair was soft and bouncy. It never looked this good when it was relaxed.

My stylist took a picture when he finished curling it. I love the layers!!!

My hair didn’t hold up this style for too long thanks to the wind on the way home but it still looked cute:

I kept this look for about 2 weeks. Honestly, after about a week, I was bored with it. I ended up wearing it in a pony tail (just like when I was relaxed). I really missed my curly hair and couldn’t wait to wash the straightness out 🙂 Plus I had some new products I received from my Black Friday haul that I couldn’t wait to try out (next post I’ll be uploading).

I will be doing this again most likely in the winter since this style would never hold up in the summer. It is best done in the colder months.

    • LOL! By the time I got home, the hype was gone and my hubby wasn’t too excited about it. He loves my curly hair 🙂
